Background:
DoIT Information Technology was formed out of our desire to make a better IT company than the ones we have worked for. One of our core ideas is to cut all the fat — the owners are the engineers and we sell ourselves. And, we believe in doing things the right way based on industry standards and our collective experience. This efficiency brings the highest value to our customers.
As leaders in our field, we came together to provide an all-encompassing set of services for our clients. We take great pride in our work and this gives us the best opportunity to continue to take on new challenges and help our clients grow.
When your project is mission critical and just can’t fail, you can count on us to knock it out of the park. We succeed where others fail.
Methodology:
Once most consultants get their foot in the door, they’re hard to get rid of. We have a different mentality when it comes to customer relationships. We understand there is a beginning, a middle, and a logical end to consulting relationships. Our goal, once remediation or implementation is completed, is to document and train your staff so they are empowered and do not need to rely on consultants. If a consulting team does their job correctly, they should ride off into the sunset. If they did an amazing job, you’ll be back when you need help. Our business model is to make you successful, and have repeat business in your company’s growth or next acquisition. To us, reputation building is more valuable than holding you hostage with knowledge.
Our customers have benefitted the most from our services when they fully engage with us to assess, propose, re-mediate, support, and refresh. We can evaluate your infrastructure starting with the physical layer and ending with the user experience and provide a complete recommendation for remediation. Once your environment is up to par, we can help you tackle performance, growth, disaster recovery, or just help maintain. Our goal is to put you in a position to be proactive.
Our team is technically proficient, but not lacking in social skills, so we are able to communicate and integrate with fellow engineers, project management, CIOs, and end users.

Josh Covey
I have been interested in technology since I was a boy, always tinkering with electronics, building model rockets, and playing with computers.
That developed into a more serious interest in IT and eventually to a Microsoft Certification program. My interest in VMware began in 2003 when they proved to be the virtualization innovator. With my background in developing core infrastructure based on Microsoft Windows Server technologies, I was able to implement VMware virtualization solutions with an understanding of the bigger picture.
As the demand for my expertise grew, I began consulting for Tire Battery Conglomerate Corporation (TBC) in Florida in 2011, and that relationship continues to this day as their primary VMware expert. TBC Corporation is the owner of Midas, and several other tire and battery brands.
As a consultant, I have developed several relationships that have lasted longer than five years. I have continuing relationships with Methodist Sports Medicine and the United Way IT collaborative. Over the course of two years, I worked with Healthcare Corporation of America to implement a Payment Card Industry standards secured infrastructure based on VMware, VSAN and Windows Server that was successfully audited each year.
I have a BS in Business Administration from Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia. I also have an associate degree in Culinary Arts. Yes, quite a bit different, but the lessons I learned in my former life of working in restaurants taught me how to handle all facets of planning and managing a staff. I’ve been able to transfer that experience and mindset to management of information technology.
In my “spare time,” I enjoy cryptocurrency mining, goofing with raspberry pi and other SOCs, and playing with and building computers and servers. I am genuinely interested in technology and that makes my professional interest seem less like work, and more like an extension of who I am.
Tom Wurm
I started my career in information technology in 1999 taking care of campus and library system networks in my spare time at Penn State University while earning my BS degree in Information Technology. I also worked on computers for friends and family to pay for school, and that developed into my first business.
In 2004, I joined a Philadelphia-based systems integrator company where I would become the Director of Professional Services and the lead for a team of ten consultants.
When virtualization became viable, I began performing VMware and Citrix installations for large companies in the Philadelphia market. Highlights included managing stock options trading system delivery via Citrix at Nasdaq OMX PHLX, a large remote coder deployment for Temple University Health System, Nationwide deployments of Citrix and an enterprise Microsoft network for United Way IT collaborative, Global manufacturing ERP system delivery via Citrix for Mars, and many smaller application delivery and virtualization projects.
In 2011, I expanded into the Florida market and worked on many important projects including global applications delivery for the US Army, Harris Corporation, Broward Cardiology, OSUMC, and many more.
In 2013, I began work as a subject matter expert in Application Delivery for the largest healthcare and manufacturing companies in the U.S.A., including HCA and Olin Chemical. Those projects are still ongoing.
In my spare time, I enjoy music, art, reading and homesteading.

Rave Reviews
“I have had a relationship with Tom and Josh for ten years, during which time they have provided excellent VMware and Citrix design, implementation, and support, as well as assisted in maintaining other services like AD, file, and exchange. With their help we have grown from a non-profit helping a few United Ways on the east coast, to a national-for-profit company that has thousands of clients.”
– Wayne Meadows, Owner and CEO, Data Management Concepts, formerly United Way IT Collaborative.
“Over the last four years, Josh and Tom have helped us go from the daily chaos of putting out fires and responding to user issues to being in a position to acquire other medical practices while touting our IT excellence and ability to provide superior services. We’re proactive and thinking ahead now instead of just surviving. Thanks!”
– Cory Goodwin, CIO, Methodist Sports Medicine
“Working with Tom, Darren and Josh was nothing short of spectacular. Their camaraderie and teamwork made our very tight scheduled project flow smooth and finish a day before the finish date. Their deep IT knowledge and IT trouble shooting skills are the best of the best in the industry. We were very impressed with the work you produced and the leadership qualities that you exhibited to not only me, but to my IT team here at Student Registration Financial Service (SRFS) at University of Pennsylvania.”
– David Domino, IT Director, SRFS, University of Pennsylvania
